Yesterday was a very cold damp rainy day. My son was on the driveway picking up each worm one by one and placing them on the grass. I asked him what he was doing and as he continued his work with a determined look on his face. He simply said, that he didn’t want the worms to die, so he wanted to bring them all back to the grass where they would be safe.
I’m always in awe with the things my children decide to do each day. He has such a kind caring heart. He wasn’t worried about being late for his karate test or scared to pick up those slimy little things. The rain didn’t stop my son from saving a family of worms. He just did it.
The point of this story is to remind you to pick something today that is holding you back due to fear or whatever your reason maybe and just do it.
Today, I’m going to share with you 3 simple tips to help you regain your personal power back in your life.
1. Confront your biggest FEAR
What’s your biggest FEAR and why are you allowing this to hold you back? Like the quote says, Everything that you want in your life is on the other side of fear. Are you allowing fear to have power over you and hold you back? What is the worst thing that can happen when you take that risk to overcome your fear? What’s the worst thing that can happen by keeping things the exact same way everyday?
2. Let go of the things you can’t CHANGE
There will come a time in your life when you realize that you can’t change people and the way they live their life. You can change the way you allow people to have control over your life and your emotions. The first step is releasing all the things that no longer serves a purpose in your life. Second, decide right now that you are in control of how you feel and the impact you allow others to have on your life.
3. TELL the TRUTH about how you feel
Nothing sucks away your personal energy more than not speaking up about how you feel. It creates emotional blocks in your life and overtime it will even affect your health on some level. Energy has an interesting way of affecting your life when you don’t deal with your emotions and your true feelings.
Try speaking to a friend that you trust about how you are feeling or another family member. If that’s not an option, try taking out a journal and write about everything that’s going on and how you are feeling. When you are ready, start taking small steps to positively advocate for how you truly feel in situations that upset you.
Here is the breakdown… Face your fears and don’t worry about something that might never happen. Let go of the things you can’t change and change the things you can control. Always speak about from your heart in a loving way and love will always shine your way.
Whether you are in a toxic relationship or a toxic work environment. You can continue to allow those people to have power over you or you can take that power back by following the suggested tips above.
